MÉMOIRE [DÉDALE] GÉNÉTIQUE COMMISSION FOR AUGUSTIN SOULARD

PAINTINGS, MUSICAL ILLUSTRATIONS GOUACHE
In collaboration with Augustin Soulard, GMEA - Centre National de Création Musicale Albi-Tarn

A series of gouaches imagined following an invitation by Augustin Soulard whose project was to reconcile solo and collective performance in a hybrid sound piece in which the central point is improvisation. These ten portraits, accompanied by a garden and an abstract composition, served as a foundation for the ten musicians to reflect on their music, to push the limits of their instruments, to imagine a relationship between image and sound.
The musical performance was performed as part of a residency for four composers at GMEA - Centre National de Création Musicale Albi-Tarn on Saturday 6 August 2022. "The four selected composers have been commissioned to write a 15-minute piece for 10 musicians. The works can be written in traditional, graphic or verbal notation.

In this abstract composition you can see the face of each character on a kind of brown disc. There are a lot of floating objects, pieces of wood, patterns, flowers, things.
